An employee joined on 11-4-2011, but his company started paying his EPF contributions towards EPF from 1-2-2013, thereby retaining 22 months of his EPF contributions, even though he was an existing EPF member in the previous company. Can the employee claim his first 22 months of EPF contributions at the time of exit? Please advise.

If the employee joined the company in 2011, which is 11 years ago, what was he doing all this time when he knew his PF was not deposited? The period of limitation is 3 years, and it is not necessary for the company to keep labor records after 3 years. Therefore, this claim is unlikely to be considered by any court or government authority.
