As per the previous practices, only from his last employer could the ESI number be traced. It can also be tracked from the ESI Local office where he was attached earlier.
However, as per the new practices, while initiating the ESI number, the portal 'Employees (Universal Account Number) UAN seeding' entry is required/added. When the ESI number is taken, linking it with the UAN number, the same can be tracked.
