Here I have one query as below, so can you please advise on this.

In the journey of my career, my first company's notice period overlapped with the second company's joining, and now I am working in the sixth company. At that time, I faced an issue with the first company, which did not release me on time because they required me until 30th September 2011 for project requirements. Meanwhile, I joined the second company on 27th August 2011 because I didn't want to lose the offer, which was a better opportunity. So, my release date overlapped by 21 days.

The second company did not have any problem, and I informed them. Both companies' work shift durations were different, so I managed very well without any issue and maintained confidentiality as well. I have both companies' appointment and experience letters with proper exit formalities. Here, my first company's notice period overlaps with the second company's joining, so is it okay to apply to MNC companies like TCS, Infosys, etc.? Can any problems occur in the BGV process?

Please guide me on this so I can proceed accordingly.

Thank you.

Based on your situation where your 1st company notice period overlapped with your 2nd company joining, and you managed the transition with proper documentation and communication, there may not be significant issues in the BGV (Background Verification) process when applying to MNCs like TCS, Infosys, etc. However, it's important to consider the following points:

- Transparency: Ensure you are transparent about the situation during the recruitment process with any potential employer. Disclose the overlapping dates and explain the circumstances clearly.

- Documentation: Since you have appointment and experience letters from both companies with proper exit formalities, these documents can serve as evidence of your employment history and the smooth transition between roles.

- Confidentiality: Highlight that you maintained confidentiality during the transition period, as this demonstrates professionalism and integrity.

- Company Policies: Different companies have varying policies regarding notice periods and overlapping dates. It's essential to be aware of the policies of the companies you are applying to and how they may view such situations.

- Clarification: If during the BGV process, any discrepancies or questions arise regarding the overlapping dates, be prepared to explain the circumstances truthfully and provide the necessary documents to support your explanation.

In summary, as long as you provide a clear and honest account of the situation, backed up by proper documentation, and demonstrate your professionalism throughout the process, the overlapping notice period should not pose a significant obstacle in the BGV process when applying to MNC companies.
