Dear Sir/Madam, I was deputed to work at an IT company as a contractor. My notice period mentioned by the employer in the offer agreement is 15 days. Last week, I spoke to the client manager on the phone and submitted my resignation via email to my employer who provided me with the offer.
Now, my employer is not accepting my resignation and is asking me to show proof of the email resignation that I submitted to the client. They are warning me that they will mark me as 'absconded' if not submitted. My employer is not responding to my emails. With only 5 days left on the job, kindly look into this matter and help me in this regard.

You need to personally visit your employer and clarify the position. In case it is not possible, send a self explanatory letter with the proofs .

As I haven't communicated with the client in written form, will they consider me an absconder once my notice period is over? Please clarify.

You have to address it to the employer and endorse a copy to the dealing official of the client.

You need to submit your resignation to your employer, who provided you with the appointment. If there was any special clause in your appointment letter, it should be considered. At best, you can CC the client to request that someone be put in your place as you are leaving the job. Make sure to take acknowledgment in your copy. In the true sense, the consent of the client is not material to the subject of your resignation. Without any special clause in terms of your appointment, the threat from your employer is ineffective.
