Suppose an employee's salary is on hold for 2 months, and we are paying the salary for 3 months altogether. What amount of Professional Tax should we deduct if his P. Tax per month is Rs. 200? Should we deduct Rs. 200 or Rs. 600? Please help.

The salary is accrued by the employee after working for three months, not for one month. Whether you pay it together for three months or for one year (which you cannot do legally), you have to pay P.Tax based on the monthly salary.

PT has to be recovered as per state slabs. However few states have relaxed by notifying deferred payment/remittance to govt.agencies, filing of returns. Pl.check web site of the state govt.
