My wife worked in a school as a teacher and resigned from the institution on 18th March 2020 because she is pregnant. The school management requested her resignation as she could not continue as a teacher for the academic year 2020-2021 due to her pregnancy. She has been covered under the ESIC benefits and registered with ESIC since 2015. The current benefit period is from 01-01-2020 to 30-06-2020.
Please let me know if she can apply for maternity benefits and payments. Also, please provide the procedure for the same.
