Hi,

Please guide me. Our company is planning to raise the basic salary to above Rs. 15,000. Above this limit, PF contribution is not mandatory for both the employee and employer. The company has 40 employees, and this is the first time they are planning to enroll for PF. Is it okay, or is there any ceiling on basic salary?

Hi,

Try not to jump the gun and wait for the employer's action before you look for the solution. Have patience, as one cannot take action, much less against an employer, based on hearsay or gossip, no matter how strong the rumors may be. I do not think it will be possible in the long run, as you still need some assistant-level employees to handle routine chores, and the employer will think twice before paying them the salary you are discussing here.
