Understanding Lay-off, Lockout, Retrenchment, and Factory Closing

What is the meaning of lay-off, lockout, retrenchment, and factory closing? I referred to books, but I can't understand. Please clarify: in the case of lay-off and lockout, does the employer have to pay, and if yes, what percentage after reopening? Are there any options available? Some companies pay differently for lay-off, but for a lockout, they do not pay. Is this correct, sir?

Salary Entitlement During Suspension

If an operator is under suspension pending investigation, are they entitled to 50% salary from basic + DA or gross salary for up to 90 days? Is this correct, sir?

For the period between 90 days and 150 days, should the operator receive 75% salary from basic + DA or gross salary? Is this correct, sir?

After 150 days, should the operator receive 100% salary from basic + DA or gross salary? Is this correct, sir?

Understanding Employment Terms

What is the meaning of lay-off? Workmen are advised to leave the job due to the unavailability of work for a temporary period.

Lockout

Business is closed for a temporary period due to no business.

Retrenchment

The junior-most workman is advised to leave the job permanently due to the unavailability of work.

Factory Closing

Permanently closing factory premises for working. I referred to books but I can't understand. Please help.

In the case of lay-off, it should be as per the Settlement or as per ID Act provisions. Some companies may have different methods of payment for lay-off, while lockout may not involve payment. Is this correct?
