Dear Mr. Arun Sathya Seelan,
I hope I've got your name right! Pardon me if I've got it wrong.
As per the latest trends and scenario, the ideal ratio of nurse-patient in the ICU is 1:1; even 1:2 is also acceptable. However, if the number of patients is less, then the widely accepted ratio is 1 nurse per 4.25 patients. Nowadays, a trend has set in to create the ICU on the ground floor itself, near the casualty and general ward for easy transfer of patients. Also, the platform of nursing stations has to be made high enough for a better view.
Please feel free to clarify or ask for any further details regarding hospital management.
Best Wishes, Shalini
