One of my employees resigned on 08/12/2017, and their last working day will be 08/01/2018. In this case, I am paying Dec+Jan 8 days' salary on 08/01/2018. So, what about the PF payment? Should I pay PF until Jan 8th in the December return? Or should I process payments for December and January separately? Or should I include only January in the return itself? Please let me know the correct process.

if last working day is 8th jan 2018, then the return of jan will be filed in feb 2018 with his 8 days contribution
PF Payment Timing
PF is payable after the salary is paid. Since for January 8th, you are not going to pay him along with the salary of December '17, the advance PF payment along with the December contribution (which at any rate would have been paid by now) is not called for. It is better to pay along with the January '18 contribution. However, if you have already paid in advance, then seek adjustment by informing the local PF office clearly and categorically of the adjustment being done. Otherwise, later there would be pointed questions when PF authorities inspect you.
