Dear Members,

Please help me to understand my query mentioned in the subject line. I have read many articles but have not been able to come up with a conclusion. Many articles say that it is the average daily salary - Does it refer to the Basic or Gross salary? Please share your views on what is typically followed in companies. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could provide authentic evidence from the Government. This information would greatly assist me in getting it approved by the Management.

Hi, As per the norms employer has to pay gross wages to the employee on maternity leave.
