Hi Seniors, I have 4 years of experience in HR. As part of job enrichment and in the quest for knowledge about the basics of business finance, I was among the few to get a chance to learn and work in finance. Now, I can happily say that I know much more about business financing, which will help me in my career going forward.

Enhancing HR Efficiency Through Cross-Functional Knowledge

Professional and technical knowledge of other areas of the organization will certainly enhance the efficiency of an HR person. HR, being a general function closely associated with people management, benefits greatly from acquiring knowledge about other fields of activity. This broader understanding can help an HR professional to comprehend a given problem from all perspectives and suggest appropriate solutions.

If you have a predominant flair for HR despite its basic nature as a staff function, you can consider a shift. However, the organization should be of such a magnitude to offer you a variety of HR activities.
