Respected HRs and professionals, I am working for a firm that helps individuals in rental house hunting in Gurgaon. I've been asked to find a potential channel for partnership with companies. I have come to know about the company's relocation assistance to employees as one of the channels.
Company's Current Policies on Relocation and House Hunting
Can you guide me regarding the company's current policies on relocation and assistance in house hunting? Does the company have a third-party vendor for house hunting? If not, will the company be willing to have one?
Contact for Partnership
Who is the concerned person to contact in the company to move forward with the partnership?
Potential Channels for Partnership
Also, can you give me any insight into other potential channels for partnership with companies?
Thank you.

Hi Abhagat990,
Generally, companies provide accommodation for new joiners for a week to a couple of weeks, based on management's discretion. There is no specific policy for finding a house for the employee. However, online housing portals like 99acres, CommonFloor, NoBroker, Magicbricks, etc., have a corporate connect team that will assist the new employee in finding a house at no extra cost. Simple :)
Thank you!

There is no hard and fast rule or any law relating to the subject. You need to frame a policy for it. You can give one week of joining time at the new place of posting, during which the company can reimburse his lodging and conveyance charges and also provide a halting allowance. This will help in finding a home within a week. The company can also collect information from the employees about the availability of accommodation for rent as a service to such employees.
