The Supreme Court, in its order dated 28.9.2016 (copy attached), has held that only the persons specified in the Pension Scheme are entitled to receive pension, and no one else. Even the employee himself cannot dispose of the pension in his will. Pension is not considered his property, and as a result, not all legal heirs are entitled to a share of the pension under the Hindu Succession Act.
