Keeping Employees Happy, Motivated, and Connected

I have been taught about the benefits of employee happiness and the importance of feeling connected with the organization. I have implemented a few strategies to help employees feel valued and cared for, such as:

Insight of the Day

I have a schedule based on daily insights:
- Monday: Motivation
- Tuesday: News of the Day
- Wednesday: Health Tips
- Thursday: Tips on Driving and any current topics
- Friday: Happy Weekend or Recipe for the weekend

Wishes

We send wishes to employees on birthdays, wedding anniversaries, year completions, confirmations, and marriages.

Personalized Gifts

We provide personalized gifts on occasions like birthdays to add a personal touch.

Employee Engagement

We plan monthly engagement activities and take employees out for fun.

In-House Activities

We offer eatable items almost daily, sharing fun and enjoyment with the team.

Please share some more ideas to add more fun and keep them happy and motivated.

Hi Seniors, I have recently joined a pharmaceutical company as an Executive HR for the QC department. I have planned to conduct some employee engagement activities for these employees. However, I have worked for an IT company earlier, where the work culture is completely different. Hence, I don't have much idea about what kind of team-building and motivating activities I can conduct in a pharmaceutical company for the QC department. Kindly suggest some ideas on what kind of activities would suit the pharmaceutical industry and specifically for the QC department. Thanks in advance.

My replies are as below:

For Durgesh: You have provided a list of points that make employees happy. Nevertheless, what is important for the business is the productivity of the employee. A happy employee may not be a productive employee. Yes, employee happiness is important, but that is not all.

For Tejashree: Queries on the subject of employee engagement often get repeated. I have given my lengthy response on this subject. You may refer to the following link: https://www.citehr.com/562428-employees-engagement.html. Most HR professionals believe that a few games will engage employees. However, it is a complete myth. Since the tangible benefits of the games are not measured, the myth persists without being debunked.
