There is no law which mandates annual increments for employees. However, all progressive and well-run companies do provide annual increments during annual appraisals, etc. Government/Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have annual increments as part of their wage policy. Therefore, the question of taking legal action in the case of a private company does not arise. The Minimum Wages Act is reviewed at six-month intervals, and all companies are required to comply with the stipulated daily wages.
