Hello Seniors,

I am working in a partnership firm, which is a construction company having projects of civil irrigation. The company is not giving any single paid leave in any form to any of the employees. Leaves taken are unpaid, and even a half-day leave is deducted from the salary. Moreover, late marks (above 2 late marks in a month) are being deducted from the salary. Kindly suggest if this is legal. Awaiting your cooperation.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Kiittuu,

Your company, by the very nature of its activities, can have regular employees as well as daily-rated casual employees who are paid based on their attendance only. Please clarify which type of employees your query relates to.

Thank you.
