Dear All,

I need to understand the procedure for availing compensatory time off. What about the accounts people who work long hours during audits? What are the grounds for entitlement to compensatory leave?

Cheers,
Tehzib

If an employee is deprived of any of the weekly holidays, he shall be allowed to take compensatory holidays of an equal number of holidays lost within a month in which the holidays were due to him or within 2 months immediately following that month.

If an employee stays 3-4 hours more than his daily working hours, i.e., more than 9 hours in any day or for more than 48 hours in any week, he shall be entitled to overtime at the rate twice his ordinary rate of wages for such overtime work.

Regards,
Aniruddh
