while withdrawing PF is it mandatory to enclose crossed Cheque ? previously i enclosed Bank A/c front page only and got setteled. But present employer is asking crossed Cheque. Please clarify.

Crossed cheque — it should be a cancelled cheque, which is mandatory to facilitate NEFT transfers from PF to your registered SB account. The cheque will contain details such as the IFSC code and MICR code, all of which need to be entered accurately to ensure prompt payment. Simply hand over a cancelled cheque. Why question a routine requirement?
