Dear Aastha Aggarwal,

Good Afternoon!!!

You may include the following clause in your offer letter:

"Your appointment is subject to verification of documents and reference checks. The company reserves the right to take appropriate action against false information provided."

Feel free to reach out in case of any further queries.

Dear Aastha Aggarwal,

You should verify all the information ASAP. Otherwise, it is not easy to terminate an employee after false information, whether we have it in writing or not. So, be careful before hiring.

Declaration/Undertaking in Employment Contracts

Generally, there is a practice to obtain an undertaking/declaration in a Company Employment Application Form or include a clause in the appointment letter that states the following:

Declaration/Undertaking: (Sample)

I, the above-named applicant, do hereby solemnly declare that the information provided in the employment form is true to the best of my knowledge and belief. If any of the information is found to be incorrect at any time, I understand that immediate termination may result, as this is considered part of the employment contract.

I acknowledge that the position is of a contractual nature and will end upon the completion of the contract period, renewal, or completion, whichever occurs earlier.

I certify that I am not suffering from any illness that would make me unfit for the position or impact my work efficiency. I confirm my ability to perform the duties of the applied-for position.

If a similar declaration is included in your company's employment application form or appointment letter and the information/documentation provided as support is genuine, you have the right to terminate the contract after informing the employee and a witness.

Regards,
Suresh
