I was working outside India and now returned to India and got a job in an MNC. The new company is asking for my release letter (mandatory) from my previous company, which I do not have, as companies in the country I worked before never issue any release letter, etc. It is not possible for me to obtain the release letter now from my previous employer as the company has become a shell company. What should I do now? Should I fake a release letter? Nothing in my resume is false. Kindly advise urgently.

Please clarify the same facts to your new company. You definitely will have some proof of release letters - like your resignation letter, initial appointment order, salary slips, etc., and credits to your account of final payments, etc. Do not falsify any release letters. I am sure the MNC will understand and accept your explanation.
