Dear Friends, due to some personal problems, my career has been derailed in middle age. It has remained stagnant for almost a year now. I am looking to restart it and have begun meeting people in various organizations. The feedback I have received has been quite shocking. Most individuals have pointed out issues with my profile.

Educational Background and Career Path

I hold a degree in science and an MBA in Finance from IGNOU. I began my career in 1998 as a faculty member in management studies at a small college for 7 years. In 2005, I transitioned to the corporate world as Manager-HR & Training. Subsequently, in 2009, I moved into marketing and rose to the position of Regional Manager-Marketing (North India) until the end of 2013. However, I had to abruptly resign due to my father's sudden illness (paralysis). He is now stable, and I am eager to re-enter the workforce, but the response has not been favorable.

Career Challenges and Concerns

Could working across different functions like HR, Training, and Marketing or in various industries such as education, insurance, and automobile be a hindrance? Or is the sudden one-year break in my regular service the issue?
