Hello Folks, I am Rajsekhar, currently working as a recruitment professional with 2 years of experience. Now, I am planning to transition into a new role and have decided to pursue the SAP HR module. I am, however, confused about the training institute fees.
Certification vs. License
I have come across two terms - Certification and License. What is the difference between the two? Will a certified employee automatically receive a license, or are they separate entities?
Training Institute Fees
Some training institutes are charging 15k, while others mention a fee of 3.5l. What accounts for this significant difference? Can anyone provide clarification on this matter?

Dear Mr. Rajsekhar, please ask for the details of the course contents from various institutes and then compare them. You will come to know the differences, inclusions, exclusions, purposes, etc. You can also refer to the institute's website to understand what is being offered. After this, if you still have doubts, you can write to them to have the doubts clarified.

Understanding Licenses and Certifications in SAP
A license is a right to use software. In the case of SAP, the license will be with the company you work for. They obtain licenses when they purchase SAP, and they need to pay more when they require additional licenses. In general, each active user needs a separate license.
So, you need not worry about a license. However, the institute where you learn must have licensed software, not pirated versions.
Certification Explained
Certification is a method under which someone tests your knowledge and certifies that you are fit to do a certain job. It's like graduation after college. To the best of my knowledge, only certification from SAP is valid. If the certificate is from elsewhere, it's a waste.

It is always good to get your SAP training done from an authorized SAP education partner. Any local computer institute will only be able to give you training on ERP, which comes at a much lower cost but will add no value to your career. Also, to use SAP server, LSO, and Citrix, you need to do training through authorized SAP academies. After completing the training, you will be able to take the SAP certification only if the training is done through authorized SAP centers. Once you clear the SAP certification exam, you will be called an SAP certified consultant and will be able to use the SAP logo on your CV, which is not possible if training is done from non-authorized centers.
Types of SAP Training Available
There are two types of SAP training available: ILT - Instructor-led training and OLT - Online training. OLT comes at a much lower cost. For more details, please visit any authorized SAP center in your city. To get the list of authorized centers, please visit the SAP official website.
