Dear seniors,
I am working as a Senior HR Executive in an Infrastructure Company, and I have a query regarding EPF.
EPF Exemption Query
In my company, some employees earning more than Rs. 6,500 as basic salary have been excluded from EPF, having obtained an exemption by submitting Form-11 to the EPF department. Now, with the new enhanced EPF ceiling, their basic salary is not more than Rs. 15,000. Can we still continue to exempt the above employees whose basic salary is between Rs. 6,500 and Rs. 15,000? If we have to start deductions from now onwards, do we need to cancel their previous exemptions? Please suggest the correct procedure to follow.
Thanks and regards,

There is no point in cancelling earlier exemptions. They shall be covered under EPF from 1.9.14. Varghese Mathew

If an employee's basic salary is less than 15,000 Rs, then you need to cover that employee under the EPFO scheme from 01-09-2014. If an employee's basic salary is more than 15,000 Rs, you can ask them to submit Form No. 11 revised to the employer for exemption from the EPFO scheme.
If any employee who was previously exempted from the scheme but now has a basic salary of less than 15,000 Rs, we need to deduct PF from their salary and ask them to submit Form 2 for nomination.
For more information, you can contact the enforcement officer of your region, and they will guide you properly.
