Dear .....
as per me - your salary will be calculated from 1st based on attendance but notice period will be considered for 30 days from your date resignation .
during the notice period if served on 15 days , remaining 15 days salary will be recovered against notice period .
My sincere suggestion is better you follow the appointment terms and condition of your company .

Hi Poorva,
Rightly said by Murali, since you haven't served the complete notice period from the companies’ terms. You would be eligible for deduction of pending notice period days. For example in your case- you would be paid salary between (11th Aug to 31st Aug) and 10 days basic salary would be deducted from your earnings...

Dear Friend,
Terms of employments is to serve one month's notice or in lieu of notice period either side shall pay one month compensation.
If it is so, you resigned from the services of the company on 12th Aug by serving 19 days' notice period because your last working day was 30th . Shortfall of notice period is 11 days only and as such you are to calculate your 11 days' salary and pay compensation accordingly by way of chq.

Actually speaking this is illegal deduction. If it is agreed in terms of appointment that you will deposit / surrender notice pay amount, then only such deduction is legal; otherwise it is illegal deduction as per the provisions of the minimum wages act.
