ESI Coverage: Can You Claim Funeral Expenses if Your Nominee Has Passed Away?


Hi, when a person is covered in ESI, if his/her nominee passed away can the insured person claim Funeral expense in behalf of the nominee ? Thanks, Ishwarya

Hi, Funeral Expenses : An amount of Rs.10,000/- is payable to the dependents or to the person who performs last rites from day one of entering insurable employment. Not in nominee Case.
