I am a fresher, and I got selected by a company in January during campus placements. I received an offer letter in March, which I signed and sent back to them. Subsequently, they sent an email stating that they would provide the Date of Joining on the 13th of this month. However, we have not received any further communication from them.
After two days, when we called and inquired with the HR department, they mentioned that they have not yet finalized the date and will notify us once they do. It has now been two weeks since then, and I am contemplating whether I should email them to request the date.
Should I Email the HR Department?
Should I proceed with this action? If yes, how should I structure the email? Could someone provide me with a sample letter?
I would greatly appreciate your responses.

When they offer you a position, you should provide them with your preferred joining date, not the company. In HR practices, when we extend an offer to a candidate, it is customary for the candidate to give us their joining date. Sometimes, when we offer a position to an experienced candidate, they may accept our offer letter and set their joining date in the organization to serve their notice period.
I believe there may have been an issue with your offer letter process.
