Hi everyone. I'm Debajyoti Dutta. I worked at Larsen & Toubro as a Diploma Engineer from July 5, 2012, to March 23, 2014. My bond with the company was for 2 years with a penalty of 1 lakh rupees. I received training in Bangalore until December 2012, following which I was assigned to a site for technical work. I have now resigned from my position to pursue further studies.

On June 16th, I received a letter from HR stating that I left the company without prior notice, and they have requested a show cause letter from me. I am unsure whether I am required to pay the 1 lakh rupees penalty. If anyone requires the printed copies of my bond papers, I can provide them. My family is quite anxious about this situation, which is indirectly affecting my focus on my upcoming studies.

Please assist me with your guidance.

Dear Babuidutta,

Your bond was for 2 years, and you were required to serve only 1.8 years, which means it has not been completed. Kindly review the terms and conditions of the agreement that you signed. I believe it is mentioned in your bond document that if you are unable to fulfill the bond, you will be liable to pay 1 lakh rupees. Additionally, you left without informing your supervisor or HR personnel. Please visit your company and meet with the management team to explain your situation. If you have a good relationship with the management, explain to them why you left the company.

I hope your meeting is successful.

Kind regards, [Your Name]

Mr. Dhruv Patel,

In the probationary letter, it's mentioned that if I leave the company within the probationary period, then I'll have to pay a compensation amount of one month's salary if I don't give one month's notice before leaving. I'm really very confused.
