Recently, I resigned from my company, and I am serving the notice period. To retain me, they have offered to provide INR 4000 on a monthly basis as variables, which will be added to the CTC. Currently, my in-hand salary is 22k. After accepting their offer, I will receive 22k + 4000 variables, even if my performance is 0%. So, my new in-hand salary will be 26k. If I change my company in the future, will the hike be on 22k or 26k, and are variables included in the CTC?

Please help ASAP.

Dear Romanch,

Variable pay can be considered in CTC as a part of the cost to the company, but it can be treated as fixed as it varies from time to time.

So, if you are considering a salary hike with a prospective organization, you will need to negotiate either with the CTC or the take-home salary.
