Hi, I am working as a contractor for one of the top IT companies in the world for the last 1.5 years. Now, they have decided to hire me as a permanent employee on their payroll. After that, they will perform the background verification. My first company is now closed, and as it was a small company, I do not have any salary statements or bank statements as proof. This is my third company, so my background check will be positive from the second company. However, since my first company is closed, I am concerned if that will create a problem for me and what the solution might be.

As my current company is a large one, they will conduct a strict background check. I am afraid that if they find out my first company is closed, it may cause an issue with my employment. Kindly suggest and provide your insights.

Handling Background Verification When a Previous Company is Closed

If the company is closed, what will you do because it is not your mistake? If the second company's people give a good report, then that is enough. If you don't have any issues in your first company, keep some of your senior colleagues who worked for that company earlier and who may give positive feedback on you so that you can provide their contact numbers if they ask. Otherwise, forget about that. They will check and close the issue as the company is closed.

Kamesh
