Schedule II of the Act specifies the individuals encompassed within the definition of 'employee' as stated by the Act. The Employees' Compensation Act is applicable not to a specific establishment but to persons employed in certain employments. It applies to employees engaged in the following employments, even if it is an educational, commercial establishment, or hospital:
1. Construction, maintenance, repair, or demolition of buildings.
2. Work on any overhead electric line, etc.
3. Generation of electricity, i.e., generator.
4. Felling or logging of trees.
5. Driver.
6. Horticultural activity.
7. Pumping of water.
8. Tube well.
9. Maintenance of electrical fittings.
10. Watchman.
This list is specific to Kerala. Other states may also have similar additions.
