Hi, I work for a private organization in Delhi. We are trying to prepare a holiday calendar for our employees for the upcoming year 2013. We have already enlisted three gazetted holidays, i.e., Republic Day, Independence Day, and Gandhi Jayanti, along with restricted holidays.

Now, the issue is on what basis should we prepare the holiday list? What is the minimum number of leaves that is mandatory for an organization? Is there a set format based on which the classification of leaves is done while preparing the same?

Please help.

Holiday Regulations and Acts

The holidays are subject to the provisions of the following acts:
1. Shops and Establishment Act
2. National Festival & Holidays Act

The above two acts are state acts and may or may not be applicable in the state of Delhi. You will have to check locally. Further, the holidays will follow the policies of the organization, and therefore it is difficult to have a set format for holidays.
