Other than Sick Leave, no leave can be taken during the Notice Period. You will be able to get more details on this subject at [Dynamics of Human Resource Management: Employee Separation – Notice Period](http://sanjeevhimachali.blogspot.in/2012/07/employee-separation-notice-period.html)

Why notice period clause is inserted? It is for the purpose of a smooth transition and finding out the alternatives or delegating the responsibility to others during the notice period. If the NP is adjusted with accumulated leaves, the very purpose of the notice period clause is undermined.

Ms. Sweta,
The notice period is for serving the company during the specified period. However, it is at the discretion of the company to allow adjustments to leave, which is normally not permitted. The notice period is intended for finding a suitable replacement for the employee who is leaving the company. It is also the responsibility of the departing employee to hand over all duties to their successor and assist in their integration into the company's operations. If the departing employee opts to pay for the notice period, they cannot be prevented from doing so.
