Greetings!

Main point:
Please let me know how to tally whether contract labor has filed the PF returns regularly for all casual workers of our company. We have the employees' deduction record as we do it ourselves. However, for employers' contribution, we provide payment to contract labor along with their salary. I want to know how I can tally this.

Anjali

Dear Friend,

I read your query. It is our prime responsibility on behalf of the employer to ensure it. As you are aware, the wages should be distributed by the contractor in the presence of the employer's representative. At that time, the HR person should ensure whether the contractor has remitted or not. When claiming the labor bill, the contractor has to submit the previous month's PF & ESI remitted challan photocopies for certification along with the current bill; then only the present bill will be sanctioned. The same pattern should be followed while submitting the Annual or Half-Yearly returns. For your guidance, please see the attached file 'as a guide on the Contract Labour Act.' This may be helpful for you.
