I am a new member of this place. I have not completed my master's yet, but I am looking forward to starting my career. I have never had a job, so I don't have any job experience. I am unsure about my career direction as well, but I have been advised by my brother to pursue a degree or at least start a career in a bank, and then do the master's later on if it is required. Please advise if it's better to start gaining work experience in a bank or if it's better to do a master's first and then get a job.

Thanks.

Master's Degree vs. Work Experience in HR

In HR, a Master's qualification is equivalent to approximately two years of experience during the assessment of salary. However, my personal advice to you is to gain some work experience before pursuing a Master's degree. Work experience provides you with the opportunity to explore your personal interests towards various specialization options within your field.
