What are the methods of self motivation that will help you to be more productive?

In my opinion, if you want to motivate yourself, firstly think positively because this is the main tool to motivate you. After that, give some time to enjoy your life in different ways like singing songs, reading motivational stories, and watching good motivational movies. Get motivated by ideals who are strugglers like Sachin, Ambani, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, etc., and also learn from the common man. Watch some motivational movies like "Chak De," "3 Idiots," "300," "Titanic," "The Last Castle," etc.

If you could provide a bit of background, I think you will get a better answer. What I am interested in knowing is what is prompting you to ask this question. Is it you who requires motivation, or is it for somebody else? Secondly, if it is for you, then are you looking to live life in a motivated style, or are you seeking motivation to help you perform better in your professional life?
Metaphysically, your professional life would be a subset of your personal life. In practice, if you look at it, everything is personal - it is your job, your work, your love, your home! So, it is your total life, in fact. What you choose to do will also impact how you spend a major part of your everyday life and a big slice of your total life! Since, by and large, you receive recognition from society based on what you choose to do and how well you do it.
To feel happy doing something, it is necessary that you love what you are doing. I mean, if you do not like accounting and I compel you to do a job in accounting, you will either be angry or bored to death. Consequently, you must choose for your profession something you love. Anything else you do will give you negative vibes, and as a result, you will send negative energy to others as well. On the other hand, you will not really look forward to starting your work. This means: you will not feel motivated to do the job.
So, if you analyze: if you are happy with what you are doing, then there will be no need to motivate you because you will only be too eager to start your job. After all, you are enjoying yourself in it.
Unfortunately, there are many of us who are not able to understand what they love. They are either victims of the flow, peer pressure, or parental pressure, or maybe, for the heck of it, they are there.
Now, Ankita, I want you to chew on the above, for this is only a part of the answer. While your question is very short, the answer, according to me, is not so simple. My understanding is that if you were interested in theory, then you would have picked up the books or surfed the net. If you really want to understand the subject, then some detailed discussion would be required. If you find what I have written above interesting, then let me know, and I shall continue further.

The Connection Between Motivation and Self-Confidence
Motivation is directly related to our self-confidence. No one has the same level of confidence every day. So, raise your self-confidence by thinking of yourself as a golden individual in this world. Do something extra in your daily life and put in the extra effort to achieve your goals. Just do whatever you want to do. Many people waste their time thinking about what to do. Here, I want to emphasize that you must do what you know. Don't judge your results too quickly; instead, assess your progress from where you started. Additionally, many individuals try to achieve success, but in reality, it is a matter of doing or not doing. Therefore, never just try.
Thanks,

Methods to Be Motivated and Be More Productive
At the beginning of the day, decide what you want to achieve today. That is your goal. You can't be motivated unless you know you need to achieve something. In other words, a person without a target or goal is on an endless journey. You also have to understand that the goal has to be achievable.
Once you have defined your goals, you need to write down the methodology/route map for reaching that target. Secondly, list the resources you will need to achieve your goals.
The next step is to ensure you prepare a step-by-step process map of the activities needed to reach your target. You will need to also incorporate some flexibility into the plan to cover any exigencies. Try to think in advance about what can go wrong and plan against it to reduce exigencies.
Afterward, incorporate the people whose help you will need to ensure that they deliver on time.
Finally, implement your plan.
If you follow this method, you are likely to be more productive, and if you succeed in it, then this will automatically motivate you. Nothing motivates like success.
Finally, going back to my original post on motivation: Are you the right person for the right job? For if you are not, believe me, motivation will be a constant and daily fight. Money is merely a result of your success, and for real success, it is necessary that you love your work and enjoy every moment of it. HAPPINESS IN THE JOB IS WHAT MOTIVATES ANYONE.

Do you agree with the various responses on motivation, particularly a big YES to Mr. Jacob? One gets motivated by many factors. For example, if he or she completes the task before its scheduled time, achieves the exam result at par with what he wished for, or better than what was expected. Motivation is obtained by "doing the task successfully."
Positive Attitude and Discipline
"Positive attitude" and "discipline" in day-to-day work are key factors for better drive to carry out defined, assigned, created, or interested activities, and that certainly brings motivation. Doing the most interesting activity brings satisfaction, particularly when the yield is fruitful, and that brings motivation.
Setting and Following Targets
Set the target (may be long-term and short-term) and follow them regularly. (Setting the target by understanding one's own capacity and capability). Working on the target regularly, passionately, and tirelessly would fetch success, and that would give a feeling of self-motivation too.
Reading and Inspiration
Reading articles/books on self-motivation would help one to stay motivated. Inspiring stories and, at the same time, the positive attitude of a person certainly feel motivated to carry out a specific task/activity.
Summary
Positive attitude. Living life with a bit of discipline (no haphazard). A sense of achieving something, doing the most interesting activity. Ultimately, it is doing, doing, and doing (interested, assigned, created, defined, delegated) with a positive attitude and discipline.

Thank you for your encouraging feedback on my response and for contributing to the discussion. The last sentence in your response, "doing, doing..." is a very significant input. As they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating; so self-motivation spurs one to work, and the results of the work would be an added self-motivator.
