Currently, my company does not deduct TDS as it is a small company; hence, it has no Form 16. Also, I didn't have to pay tax because, after 80C deductions, I was under the tax slab and have also not filed returns. I am about to join a new, big company. If I join on 1st April, will they ask for Form 16 or any other tax-related documents?

Normally, no company will ask for your previous Form 16. However, if they have any doubts about your take-home or gross salary and require further clarification from your Form 16, they may request it. You can also choose to pay income tax on a voluntary basis. By paying your taxes, you may even be eligible to avail of a housing loan.
