Hello Seniors, Currently, I am working in a domestic BPO setup. One year ago, there were 100 employees working here, and I am the only HR in this company, having joined just three months back. Now, the company is in an expanding phase and wants to hire 150 agents to join from 1st Feb '12, with this information just relayed to me.
Managing HR Challenges in a Growing BPO
Being the sole HR person, how can I manage this situation, overseeing the current attrition (common in the BPO industry), managing the new hires, and handling other HR functions? I am feeling very pressured here.
Please help me out.

Managing Recruitment in BPO
When a situation presents a challenge, there will be pressure. Please do not focus on the pressure but focus only on the solution. This will enable your mind to be solution-centric and come up with solutions. Relax and develop a strategy to cope with the challenge. Some of the steps in this direction will be:
1. Even though you are the only HR taskmaster, you must surely have some assistants. Find out what kind of work can be delegated to them.
2. If you have no assistants, explain to your company executives the magnitude of the job and seek some assistance, at least for this project.
3. Alert your network to scout for eligible candidates.
4. Tap college campuses for fresh recruitment.
5. If there is any job fair in town, try to set up your stall there to attract candidates.
6. Connect with reliable placement consultants.
7. Prepare a blueprint of your strategy and discuss it with your company to keep them in the loop.
