Hi All,

All of us are watching the India Against Corruption movement led by Anna Hazare. Any movement, mission, or goal needs an organization to achieve it. And when an organization comes into play, there will be different personalities working together for its cause.

Team Anna is also composed of many personalities from various backgrounds, such as social work, former government officers, etc. The recent turmoil in the core team shows many points to learn from an HR perspective. One point is that core members are not in consensus on the path of the movement (IAC). So, what can Team Anna do from an HR management point of view to resolve issues and form a strong core team to lead this IAC movement?

Deciding on a Leader

The obvious choice is Anna Hazare.

Fixing Values

Anna Hazare must establish and adhere to the values of the movement.

Selecting Team Members

When selecting any core team member, there must be a thorough background verification, alignment of individual values with the IAC movement, skill identification, and allotment of responsibilities accordingly. There should be a "probation" period before absorbing that member into the core team.

As Hazare stated, under this movement, there will be many other issues to work on like electoral reforms, etc. Therefore, the core team should prepare a proper blueprint for all such issues with a detailed strategic plan.

Aside from Anna, all core team members must possess leadership skills to guide this movement. Doubts, questions, and allegations will be raised by the government, media, etc., on the movement. Communication through blogs, speeches, and press conferences must be handled by a specific team member to prevent conflicting statements from other team members.

Ultimately, to achieve any goal or mission, the leader must win the confidence of followers.

Yesterday only, Team Anna announced the "Ethics", "Constitution" to be followed for the Movement. This is the first step they have taken. What else do you like to suggest?
