As a Private Limited Company, I issue an appointment letter to new employees upon joining, with a condition of a probation period of 3 months. After completing the probation period, the employee will be appointed permanently.

The question is, should EPF & ESI be applicable from the first day of the probation period or after being appointed permanently?

The replies are not clear whether they mean the first day of appointment : 1. On probation or 2. as permanent.
