Kolkata: The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) today announced that account details would be available online from July 1.

"You can check the account balance of your PF online from July 1," Assistant PF Commissioner Kanchan Roy stated during an interactive session at the Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

"This will indeed be a great help to about 5 crore PF subscribers in India," he added.

EPFO plans to replace the PF account number with a unique identification number, a change that will facilitate the swift transfer of subscribers' funds in case of a job change and enable them to monitor their accounts online.

The transition from PF account numbers to UID numbers will occur after all regional and sub-offices of the EPFO are interconnected by March 2012.

Good information, Mr. Vikky. This will enable the public to check their balance and transfer the PF Account without much difficulty with the help of the Unique Identity Number. Let us hope all the states also implement the same. Thanks for sharing, dear.
