Hi Friends,

I am facing some difficulties getting my people to complete their PDPs within the given timelines. It seems to me that a major factor is that they do not understand the importance of PDPs and how it can help them progress.

Could anyone provide material on the importance of a Personal Development Plan for individuals in the organization? In other words, I want to convey the significance of PDPs in both career and organizational development.

I am waiting for some advice or materials.

Dear Faysal,

You can conduct workshops on individual development focusing on the need for individual learning and development, etc. Make a development manual and share it with employees. In my organization, Individual Development Plan (IDP) is a part of the appraisal review and discussions, which has a 25% weightage. You can also establish a linkage with career progression.

Additionally, try creating awareness by displaying banners, danglers, or other promotional materials.
