I am glad that you have taken up a summer project on Employee Welfare in a manufacturing organization. As you know, every worker is paid a salary and allowances for their work. However, mere payment of salary and allowances will not be sufficient to take care of the employees' needs. For instance, if a worker falls sick, they need medical facilities. If they meet with an accident, they need not only medical attention but also long leave with salary. Similarly, there are many needs such as educational facilities for children, recreational facilities, and crèche facilities for employees' children, and so on.

When you take up a project on employee welfare, please find out what facilities are provided to employees in the company in addition to salary and allowances, and briefly discuss them. Also, meet a few employees and find out their reactions to these programs. A small write-up could be incorporated as “Employees' Observations.”
