Safety Policy Includes:
• An onsite emergency manual.
• An off-site emergency manual.
• Safety instructions displayed at all relevant areas.
• All areas to be designated as no-smoking zones.
• Allocate a separate smoking zone away from factory working/stock premises.
• Stocking areas should be wired with fireproof cables and lighting.
• Proper ventilation, natural illumination, and fire doors (fully metal fabricated fire doors).
• Water sprinklers to be installed.
• Fire hydrant system to be installed (with operational license).
• Smoke detectors to be installed in operation/stores area.
• No wood particles allowed inside the premises.
• Built-in hot work permit system; no welding or gas cutting work to be done without a permit.
• Before permitting, the areas should be evacuated.
• Fire safety exits on all four sides.
• Fire safety training for employees at least once a quarter.
• Fire safety mock drills at least once every 6 months.
• Usage of fire extinguisher and fire hydrant training at least once every 6 months.
• Emergency response team to be identified and given training on the above without fail.
• No cable trays inside working premises.
• No junction boxes or connection of wires inside premises (only full-length cables should be laid).
• Switches to be located outside the working area.
• Welding/cutting work to be done under strict supervision with a fire extinguisher/bucket of water/bucket of sand.
