Dear All,

I have applied for PF withdrawal benefit 5 months ago, but still, I have not received any confirmation. What can I do further to get confirmation of my PF status? I received a message on 15-FEB-2011 from BP-EPFO stating:

"FORM 10C (WITHDRAWAL BENEFIT/SCHEME CERTIFICATE) & CLAIM FORM & CLAIM FORM FOR PF SETTLEMENT FOR MEMBER ACT TNMS 00260470000023311 RECEIVED ON 15.02.2011 AND CLAIM ID TNMAS 110200022499 IS UNDER PROCESS.

However, I have still not received my PF. Please suggest what I can do further to get confirmation about it.

Thank you.

Since you have received a message that your PF application was received on 15th Feb, this should be considered as confirmation of the application being received. To check the status of your application, log in to the website of your Regional Office of Employees Provident Fund Organisation and navigate to the link "Know your Application Status" or a similar section to find out the current status. Typically, it takes at least a month under normal circumstances to finalize the claim amount.

Dear Dinesh, could you please explain the significance of Form 11? From my understanding, Form 11 is a document that a new employee of a company is required to complete. This form provides details such as the employee's PF account number with their previous employer or indicates if they were not a member of the PF in the past.

Dinesh, Form 11 is not even sent to EPF but it is kept in the file only. It is for the employer's knowledge that the new employee was not covered by PF earlier. As per the rule, an employee whose salary (Basic + DA) at the time of joining the establishment is above Rs 6500 need not be covered by PF; but if he has been a member of PF and he has not withdrawn the same, he is expected to be covered by the new establishment even if his salary exceeds Rs 6500. In such cases, it is the responsibility of the current employer to facilitate the transfer of his PF accumulations by forwarding Form 13. If he was not earlier covered, the employee will declare in Form 11 that he was not covered earlier. That is sufficient for the employer to decide whether he will now be covered or not. That is the only logic behind Form 11.
