Understanding the Real Benefits of ESI
It is a fact that most people concerned do not know the actual benefits of ESI. Generally, it is felt that it is useful only for obtaining sick leave or something similar. I would request experienced and knowledgeable individuals to enumerate the real benefits of ESI to the workers and enlighten them.

Understanding ESI Benefits
ESI is an insurance scheme designed to protect employees during their ill health or sickness. ESI provides the following benefits:
1. Sickness Benefit
2. Extended Sickness Benefit
3. Enhanced Sickness Benefit
4. Disablement Benefit
5. Dependents Benefit
6. Maternity Benefit
7. Medical Benefit
8. Funeral Expenses
Of course, all these benefits will be available to the employee only when the contributions, both from the employee and employer, are regular. The employee contribution to the ESI scheme is 1.75%, and that of the employer is 4.75%. Due to these schemes, employees are ensured that they are paid their wages when the employee is taking leave under ESI.
