Which factory rules are applicable to you? In case your factory is located in Maharashtra, as per Rule 115, in case of fatal accidents occurring within the premises, it is covered under Clause 1(a) of the Schedule. Therefore, the factory inspector is to be notified within 4 hours of the occurrence of the accident. Notice is also to be given to the administrative medical officer, ESI scheme, District Magistrate, officer in charge of the local police station, and the nearest relatives of the deceased person. A written report in Form 24 of the rules is to be given by the factory manager or Form 16 of ESI general regulations.
