Instead of appointing Competency Mapping Consultants, my suggestion to you is to undergo a training program in developing and mapping competency. This will help you to make your fundamentals clear, and you can develop your system inside the company. The consultant who will come from outside will take all the inputs from you, speak big words, phrases, etc., and in return will show you the data in competency form. He may take 2-3 months and will charge you a fortune. Instead, at a fraction of the cost, you can get yourself trained and implement the competency mapping program as a project itself. By doing this, you will have a meaningful achievement. This is my suggestion to you. If you wish to get yourself trained, you can try at TVRao. They conduct regular sessions on competency mapping training.
