Dear All, Kindly confirm whether is there any rule that the companies should adopt a formal dress policy.

There is no rule as such. It all depends on the culture of your organization and the business you are in.

Choose what you think is right for you, but try never to evaluate people based on the clothes they are wearing :)

Dress code is a very upcoming issue nowadays. More and more organizations are implementing it to create a certain image in the minds of customers. It is, of course, a part of organizational culture and often can be enforced through circulars. While there may be a few employees who would prefer not to follow a dress code, most of them would have no problems adopting it.

Hi, I am Rafeeque from Ooty. Here, I am giving a suggestion for the dress code.

Some organizations have their own dress policy. These are the common dress codes for the employees:

Women:
- Suit: preferably skirt suit or pants.
- Skirt: not overly short or tight.
- Makeup: minimum, nothing too bold.
- Jewelry: nothing too large or noisy that would be distracting.
- Perfume: light application, if any.
- Nylons/dress socks: in a similar color tone to clothing.
- Shoes: no sneakers or sandals.

Men:
- Suit: preferable with jacket, tie, and slacks acceptable.
- Cologne: light application, if any.
- Jewelry: nothing too large or noisy that would be distracting.
- Dress socks: try to closely match the color of your dress pants.
- Shoes: no sneakers or sandals.
