Good morning, thank you for the reply. I apologize for any inconvenience caused by my previous message. I am seeking clear details about TRAIT THEORIES - GUILFORD PEOGUT. This theory is mentioned in my syllabus, but my attempts to find information online and in textbooks have been unsuccessful. I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide detailed information about this theory. If possible, please attach a document that I can download for reference.

Thanks for the reply. I will contact my university and inform them about the mistake that has been printed in the syllabus. As soon as I get the reply from my university, I will inform you back. Once again, thanks. As you mentioned, when I typed "GUILFORD PEOGUT" into Google, it suggested "GUILFORD Peugeot." I will inform the university about the mistake that occurred. I am still shocked about why other MBA college students have not inquired at the university.

Regards.

Hi, I think there is confusion between two different theories.

Trait Theory of Personality

The trait theory of personality is given by J.P. Guilford. Guilford has provided a comprehensive theory on the role of traits in personality.

Childhood Developmental Stages

On the other hand, Jean Piaget gave a theory for childhood developmental stages. Piaget's theory can be found in any developmental psychology textbook. For that matter, any book on Cognitive Psychology will also be helpful.

Hope this information helps you.

Thank you very much, Shilpa. Although I didn't get exactly what I was expecting, I learned some details about trait theories from your post. Once again, thanks.

Sweta, Piaget is not the one I am looking for. It may be J.P. Guilford. Can you send J.P. Guilford's theory on the role of traits in personality? If you can attach a document, it would be easy for me to download that.

Sweta

Dear Nanshekhar and Manjunath, typos do occur in documents, especially with foreign names. This is all the more so when someone dictates the notes to another (communication gaps). However, teachers who have a sound knowledge of the topic can spot the mistake and should immediately flag the mistake to the authorities concerned.

We are lucky in this age that we have search engines such as Google, which usually give links to pages with similar sounding names, or we can search using different terms (for example, "Trait theories"). That's how I got the links given in my previous post.

As you both seem to be academics, you may benefit from reading a paper at http://aera.net in which a reference is given to "How Professors develop as Teachers ...." by Peter Kugel. You can find that at http://cs.bc.edu.

If you are interested in what I have done, please drop me a private message.
